Job Description

Salary Range: $49.93 - $59.44

Position Summary:

As a key member of the Information Management Technology (IMT) team, the Application Analyst is responsible for providing proficient, professional and skilled support for various software applications used within Cambridge Memorial Hospital and its partners. The Application Analyst will work with clients to define solutions to needs or problem areas, and determines scope of investigation required to obtain a solution. Solutions may include installation of alternate methods and procedures, changes in methods and practices, or redesign of products or services.

 

The Applications Analyst will implement, integrate, enhance and support the clinical software suite of applications, implement, maintain and support third party integrated applications and troubleshoot and escalate interface errors with third party vendors.

 

The Application Analyst prepares written deliverables for client as defined in project scope, while complying with engagement standards, status report submission procedures, deadlines, and client specifications/requirements. The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. This position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, implement, and upgrade clinical and nonclinical applications
  • Responsible as the subject matter expert in various Health Information System modules
  • Responsible for building and extracting reports from the Health Information System
  • Provide 2nd level support for all clinical and non-clinical applications
  • Troubleshoot and escalate application, interface, and health information system issues with third party vendors.
  • Oversee end user operations and drive solutions across the organization.
  • Lead the implementation, customization and integration of software applications.
  • Guide project teams to implement solutions made up of clinical staff, IT staff, vendor resources and ministry staff.
  • Prioritize; plan and deliver IT based enhancements and solutions.
  • Analyze application trends and build best practice solutions.
  • Conduct research into software application products and services in support of development and purchasing efforts.
  • Drive next generation applications solutions to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Interface with cross functional stakeholders to gather end user requirements and implement continual improvements.
  • Identifies and recommends procedures and policies to improve overall service and remedy specific user problems.

Knowledge & Experience:

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience clinical applications (Meditech, Oracle Health)
  • Experience in management of and implementation of other Health Information systems
  • Strong working knowledge HL7 Interface Standards
  • 5+ years of knowledge with clinical workflows
  • Current knowledge of trends in technology relating to Meditech or other HIS and healthcare software applications.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL, LEAN and service delivery.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.

Assets:

  • Work experience in a health care field or hospital environment
  • Ability to develop and interpret technical documentation.
  • Proven record delivering IT solutions that align with the organizational goals and objectives.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Professional clinical affiliation.
  • College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, health sciences or equivalent clinical experience in a hospital with 5 years of information management experience.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies.
  • CAPM or PMP certified or interested in acquiring certification.
