Job Description

Salary Range: $49.93 - $59.44

 

Part-time contract expected to end after 6 months

 

Position Summary:
As a key member of the Project Quantum team, the Applications Specialist is responsible for providing proficient, professional and skilled support for various applications used within Cambridge Memorial Hospital and its partners. The Applications Specialist will work with clients to define solutions to needs or problem areas and determines scope of investigation required to obtain a solution. Solutions may include installation of alternate methods and procedures, changes in methods and practices, or redesign of products or services. The Applications Specialist will utilize their technical expertise to implement, integrate, enhance and support the build of Oracle Health Anatomical Pathology Module in addition to other areas of Project Quantum as assigned.  This role is responsible for provide technical support for validating system build, clinical workflows, data migration, device and interface integrations, testing, training, and go‑live readiness. The position plays a critical role in mitigating implementation risk and ensuring a safe, effective transition to operational support.
 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation, customization and integration of software applications.
  • Guide project teams to implement solutions made up of clinical staff, IT staff, vendor resources and ministry staff.
  • Prioritize; plan and deliver IT based enhancements and solutions.
  • Analyze application trends and build best practice solutions.
  • Drive next generation applications solutions to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Identifies and recommends procedures and policies to improve overall service and remedy specific user problems.
  • Other duties as assigned
 Skills and Qualifications:
    • 5 years’ experience in a Health Information System (HIS) environment.
    • College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, health sciences is preferred
    • Experience supporting or implementing Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), preferably AP modules.
    • Exposure to system build validation, data migration, interface testing, or device integrations considered an asset.
    • Familiarity with digital pathology, tracking systems, and laboratory instrumentation integrations is an advantage.
    • Working Knowledge of HL7 interface standards
    • Working knowledge or ability to learn Nuance Speech Attendant, Interbit Net Delivery, Account Software, CBORD, Omnicell, OneID, and Iatric systems.
    • Proven track record supporting various clinical or nonclinical applications and delivering results.
    • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
    • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation.
    • Current knowledge of trends in technology relating to healthcare software applications.
    • Stellar prioritization skills and proven track record executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
    • Very strong customer service orientation.
    • Outstanding written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
    • Proficient in project management methodologies.
    • Proven track record delivering IT solutions that align with the organizational goals and objectives.
    • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
    • Strong understanding of ITIL, LEAN and service delivery.
    • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required.
