Job Description

Salary Range: $48.71 - $57.99

Position Summary:

As a key member of the Information Management Technology (IMT) team, the Meditech Application Analyst is responsible for providing proficient, professional and skilled support for various Meditech Magic software applications used within Cambridge Memorial Hospital and its partners. The Application Analyst will work with clients to define solutions to needs or problem areas, and determines scope of investigation required to obtain a solution. Solutions may include installation of alternate methods and procedures, changes in methods and practices, or redesign of products or services. The Applications Analyst will implement, integrate, enhance and support the Meditech suite of applications, implement, maintain and support third party integrated applications and troubleshoot and escalate interface errors with third party vendors. The Application Analyst prepares written deliverables for client as defined in project scope, while complying with engagement standards, status report submission procedures, deadlines, and client specifications/requirements. The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. This position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible as the subject matter expert in various Meditech Magic modules and other third party integrated or standalone applications.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate interface issues with third party vendors.
  • Oversee end user operations and drive solutions across the organization.
  • Lead the implementation, customization and integration of software applications.
  • Guide project teams to implement solutions made up of clinical staff, IT staff, vendor resources and ministry staff.
  • Prioritize; plan and deliver IT based enhancements and solutions.
  • Analyze application trends and build best practice solutions.
  • Manage application upgrade testing processes end to end.
  • Provide 2nd level support for all critical patient applications.
  • Conduct research into software application products and services in support of development and purchasing efforts.
  • Drive next generation applications solutions to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Interface with cross functional stakeholders to gather end user requirements and implement continual improvements.
  • Identifies and recommends procedures and policies to improve overall service and remedy specific user problems.
  • Supporting organization wide project implementation from an applications perspective.
  • Other duties as assigned

 Skills and Qualifications:

    • 5 years’ experience in a Health Information System (HIS) environment.
    • College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, health sciences is preferred
    • Must have expertise with Meditech Magic software including AP, BAR, CA, FA, GL, MM, MM.PHA, PP, MIS, and (NUR) Staff Scheduling.
    • Must have expertise with Meditech Magic NPR reporting
    • Working Knowledge of HL7 interface standards
    • Working knowledge or ability to learn Nuance Speech Attendant, Interbit Net Delivery, Account Software, CBORD, Omnicell, OneID, and Iatric systems.
    • Proven track record supporting various clinical or nonclinical applications and delivering results.
    • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
    • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation.
    • Current knowledge of trends in technology relating to healthcare software applications.
    • Stellar prioritization skills and proven track record executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
    • Very strong customer service orientation.
    • Outstanding written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
    • Proficient in project management methodologies.
    • Proven track record delivering IT solutions that align with the organizational goals and objectives.
    • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
    • Strong understanding of ITIL, LEAN and service delivery.
    • Experience in supporting RTLS and UKG implementation an asset.
    • Clinical knowledge in Food services or Pharmacy an asset.
    • Understanding of interface engines an asset.
    • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required.
